DiMestico, of Whitman, November 12, 2002, Blanche I. (Landry) DiMestico, 94 years. Wife of the late Gerald A. DiMestico, beloved mother of Irene French and Gerald A. DiMestico both of Whitman. Also survived by her devoted granddaughter Cheryl French of Whitman as well as three other grandchildren.
Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church, Whitman at 9am. Burial in St. James Cemetery. Mrs. DiMestico died Tuesday at the Braemoor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Brockton, after a period of failing health. Born in Abington, she was a daughter of the late George and Louisa (Rogers) Landry. She was raised in Whitman, and had been resident of Whitman for 70 years. She had been a member of the Whitman Senior Citizens, a lifetime member of the Whitman Womens’ Club, Whitman Garden Club, Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality Club of Holy Ghost Church, a past member of the Massachusetts Catholic Womens’ Guild, Golden Ages and Council of Ages. She was an avid Red Sox and Bruins fan. She also enjoyed gardening. She was the wife of the late Gerald A. DiMestico.
She is survived by her daughter Irene French of Whitman, her son Gerald A. DiMestico also of Whitman, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ida Phillips, Louise Zanotti, Arthur and Henry Landry.
