DRACUT-Josephine P. (Grungo) Ruggiero, 85, a resident of Dracut, died Monday, April 23rd in Saints Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore J. Ruggiero.
She was born and raised in Boston a daughter of the late Francesco and the late Giovanna Grungo and graduated from Malden High School.
Mrs. Ruggiero was employed by Clermont's Market in Billerica and then Purity Supreme in Billerica. Previously, she was employed as a seamstress.
In her free time she enjoyed cooking, crochetting and sewing. Mrs. Ruggiero devoted her time to her family.
She is survived by four sons, John Ruggiero and his wife Nancy of Kingston, NH, Frank Ruggiero and his wife Pauline of Dracut, Paul Ruggiero of Billerica and Steven Ruggiero and his wife Maggie of Chelmsford; three daughters, Camille Swiontek and her husband Stan of Melbourne, FL, Joanne Kenealy and her husband Stephen of Alexandria, VA and April Currie of Charlotte, NC; her brother, Anthony Grungo of Malden; her sister, Millie Ciccotelli of Ipswich; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Her funeral services will held from the funeral home on Friday at 9 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made in her name to the charity of ones choice.
