Obituary

Electra (Contaxes) Halamoutis, 70, of Pembroke Pines, a former Lowell resident who was active at a Greek church in Dracut, died Monday, April 9, at Memorial Hospital in Miramar. She was the wife of Naoum Halamoutis, to whom she was married for 48 years.
She was born in Lowell on Feb. 28, 1937, daughter of the late George and Julia (Katseris) Contaxes. She was raised in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School.

Mrs. Halamoutis was a data transcriber for 27 years at the Internal Revenue Service. She retired in 1990.

Mrs. Halamoutis was a member of the Assumption of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of Dracut.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, George Halamoutis and his wife Christine, Nick Halamoutis, and two daughters, Susan Bucknam and her husband David, Debbie Capua and her husband John, all of Pembroke Pines; two sisters, Ethel Bossinis, residing in Greece, Pauline Delinger of Sarasota; 12 grandchildren, Kendra Halamoutis of Dracut, Makayla Halamoutis, in Florida, George Halamoutis, in Florida, Naoum Halamoutis of Lowell, Nicholas Halamoutis, living in New Hampshire, Christopher Halamoutis, in New Hampshire, Nicole Bucknam, Brittney Bucknam, Michael Bucknam, Matthew Bucknam, James Capua, and Christine Capua, all of Pembroke Pines.

Friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Friday at 9:30am from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at the Assumption of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of Dracut at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Assumption of Virgin Mary Church Building Fund 1160 Mammouth Rd. Dracut, Ma. 01854.
