Smullyan Sloan, Irene (Lapouse), 90, of Duxbury, formerly of Mamaroneck, NY, died April 22nd at Jordan Hospital, Plymouth. Beloved wife of Robert Smullyan Sloan of Duxbury, formerly of NY. Also survived by her son Daniel Smullyan of New York City, daughter Deborah Smullyan of Milton, MA, and four grandchildren. There are no visiting hours or services planned. Arrangements made by the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Radcliffe Institute Fund, 10 Garden St., Cambridge MA 02138-3600. Other: She turned to poetry over the last several years and published a book of poetry, “Weeper, Laugh!” in 2005. She also had produced many crossword puzzles that appeared in the daily edition of the New York Times under former puzzle editor Eugene Maleska.
