Brother of Gloria Morrissette, Roger Maille, & Dewey Maille all of Lowell, Robert Maille & Raymond Maille of Dracut, & the late Maurice, Leon, & Arthur Maille. Grandfather of Rebecca Corndell & Christopher Stone. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday in the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home 35 Spring St. East Bridgewater at 10:00Am. Burial will be in Plymouth County Cemetery, Plymouth. Visiting hours are on Monday from 5-8Pm.
Alphee E. Maille, a resident of East Bridgewater since 1961, died suddenly on April 19, 2007 at the Brockton Hospital. He was 85.
Born, raised & educated in Lowell, he was a son of the late Hector & Corinne (Lavoie).
He served with the United States Army C Company 182nd Infantry during WWII. He received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, American Defense Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge 1st Award, & the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 bronze service star.
He served from April 1940, through August of 1945, and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.
He worked for Helio Aircraft in Norwood as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for over 30 years, retiring in 1983.
He enjoyed gardening, polka dancing, polka music, & country western music. He & his wife were married for 59 years.
