Obituary

Fall River - Isabel “Bella” (Pimental) Mello, age 89, of 1685 Pleasant St., Fall River, died Saturday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of the late Manuel Rego “Cat” Mello. She is survived by Three Sons: Melvin A. Mello of Philadelphia, PA; Raymond R. Mello of Fall River; John R. Mello of Swansea, Two Daughters: Theresa “Terry” Martin & Marilyn Simons both of Westport, One Sister: Louise Pimental Armburg of Somerset, Nine Grandchildren, Ten Great Grand Children, Three Great Great Grandchildren, Several nieces and nephews. She was also grandmother of the late Charlie Mello & was also sister of the late Jack, Andrew, Arthur, and George King, Victor Pimental, and Margaret “Peggy” Pacheco.

Born in Portsmouth, RI. the daughter of the late Manuel Pimental and the late Isabel (Paiva Medeiros) Pimental. She was a Fall River resident for most of her life. Before retiring, she was a Laundry Worker at Ideal Laundry; previously, she worked at Union Hospital and Ann-Dale Cookies. She was active with “We Love Children Foundation”. She organized activities at Cotrell Heights. She was very politically involved and was a member of Espirito Santo Church.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church, Alden St. at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4-8 PM.
