Ann H. (Harrison) Herrnstadt of Newton died on Saturday at the Newton Wellesley Alzheimer’s Center in Wellesley. She was 88 years old. Born in Elkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Peyton and Elsie (Corbin) Harrison. Ann grew up in Elkton and was a graduate of the University of Delaware. She received her Masters Degree in Social Work form Boston University. During World War II, Ann served with the American Red Cross in Europe. Mrs. Herrnstadt was very civic minded and was an active volunteer with many civic organizations. She loved to travel through out the world. The beloved wife of the late Irwin L. Herrnstadt, she was the dear mother of Meg and her husband John Femino of Holliston and Michael Gonzales of Lynn. Loving grandmother of Kathryn, Emily, Meredith and Cameron Femino all of Holliston. Funeral Services and Interment at Newton Cemetery are private. In lieu of flowers donations in Ann’s name may be made to the American Red Cross 180 Rustcraft Road, Suite 115, Dedham, MA 02026.
