Obituary

SEBRING, FL__ Helen M. (Daniels) Banis, 96, formerly of 38 Sigel Street, Worcester, MA, died Wednesday April 18 in Healthsouth Ridgelake Hospital, Sarasota. Her husband, Anthony J. Banis died in 1970.

She leaves two sons, Richard P. Banis and his wife Trisha, of Sebring; and Kenneth J. Banis of Holbrook, MA, a sister, Phyllis Kolakowski of Worcester; four grandchildren, Lacey Banis, Patrick Banis, Skye Banis and Quincy Banis all of Sebring; and nieces and nephews. She was born in Providence, RI, a daughter of John J. and Rose (Petricius) Daniels. She then lived in Quincy, MA from 1935 until 1972 when she returned to Worcester. She has resided in Sebring since 2001.

Mrs. Banis was a former member of St. Casimir Church in Worcester and was also a member and former President of the Lithuanian Roman Catholic Women’s Alliance, the Lithuanian Charitable Society and Council 26, Knights of Lithuania.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday April 24 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday April 23 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
