SHREWSBURY-Andrew J. Volke, 19, of 23 Arch Street, a college student, died early Saturday morning as the result of a one car accident on South Street.
He leaves his parents, Urmas A. "Ernie" and Jacquelyn M. (Catino) Volke of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Erik A. Volke and Dana C. Volke of Shrewsbury; his paternal grandmother, Ingeborg (Heinman) Volke of East Haven, CT.; his maternal grandmother, Amelia M. (Giabatti) Catino of North Grafton, an uncle and a cousin. He was born in Worcester and lived here all of his life.
Andrew was a sophmore honors student at Keene State College majoring in business where he was recently inducted into the National Sociey of Collegiate Scholars.
He attended school in Shrewsbury and graduated with high honors from Shrewsbury High School, class of 2001. He enjoyed playing guitar, woodworking and was a motocross enthusiast. He worked summers for Side Alley Auto Restorations, Westboro.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, November 13 with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Calling hours at Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, (brittonfuneralhomes.com) 648 Main St. are Tuesday, November 12 from 5 to 8 p.m.
