Brady-Elizabeth Ann (O’Rourke) , 89 of Malden, died peacefully on Friday April 20th. Beloved wife of the late Edward F. Brady. Mother of Robert Brady and his wife Terry of Hull, Edward Brady and Janet Hansen of Alton Bay, NH, Jay Brady and his wife Emily of East Granby, CT, George Brady and his wife Karen of Malden, Kenneth Brady and his wife Judy of Medford, Mark Brady and his wife Trisha of Wilmington, Noreen McGee and her husband John of Malden and the late Michael and John Brady. Sister of Agnes Kay Kyle of Malden and the late James O’Rourke. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Betty also had many lifelong friends including Dorothy Walsh of Medford. She was born in Boston on October 10, 1917 to John and Nora O’Rourke. She was raised and married in Charlestown and has resided in Malden for over 50 years. Betty retired from the New England Telephone Company where she worked as an operator for several years. She has been a long time parishioner at both Immaculate Conception Parish in Malden and the former St. Peters Parish in Malden. Betty volunteered her time helping others at the Mystic Valley Elder Services Reading Program associated with the Malden Public School System. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish “60 Club” and enjoyed reading, traveling, Irish Music, dancing, socializing and spending time with her family. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral services from the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Tuesday Apr. 24th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden at 9 AM. Relatives & friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 PM.
