Esther W. Baker, 99 died on Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Forest Oaks Care
Center in Spring Hill, Florida. She was born in Lawrence to the late
Archibald and Lillian (Blaser) West. She was educated in Methuen and
Andover graduating from Punchard High School.
She lived in Andover for many years and was employed as a bookkeeper in
the oil industry. She was a member of the West Parish Church of Andover,
a Camp Fire Girl Leader and an avid reader. She was an 80 year member of
the Andover Chapter and Haverhill Fidelity Chapter No. 90 of the Order of
the Eastern Star. She moved to Florida and was very active in senior
groups in the Cape Canaveral - Cocoa Beach area.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard W. Baker, sisters, Ruth
Stewart and Eileen Weinhold and brother, Leman West. She is survived by
her daughter Nancy, wife of Eugene Ashman of Spring Hill, FL, her
granddaughter Amy, wife of Brian Glos of Hilton Head Island, SC and her
brother, Howard West of Andover.
Arrangements: Family and friends were invited to a Memorial Service on
Saturday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel at West Parish on Lowell
Street in Andover. The burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover. For additional information, please contact the Burke Magliozzi
