Myrtle Camp Blount of Butler died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Taylor County Health Care in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Lennon Howell will officiate with burial to follow in Leila Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega (Colquitt County). Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 21, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Blount was born on March 25, 1918 in Campbell County, now Fulton County, and was the daughter of Henry Camp and Mamie Long Camp, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Lourie Blount; three sons, Jack Blount, Shorty Blount, Roy Allen "Bull" Blount; three brothers; and four sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Ms. Blount is survived by two daughters, Judy Spivey of Rentz and Nell Peavy of Fort Valley; two brothers, Sam Camp of Lenox and Bill Camp of Cordele; one sister, Mary Brady of Gainesville; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
