Mrs. Dorothy A. (Allan) Russell, beloved wife of the late Lawrence Russell, died on Monday morning, April 16, 2007, at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford. She was 104 years old.
Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the beloved daughter of the late Wilfred N. and Agnes (Hersey) Allan. She was a former member of the Park Street Church in Boston and a fifty year member of the Congregational Church of West Medford. Mrs. Russell was an avid church member and enjoyed knitting, especially for the benefit of the church.
She was the loving aunt of Joan Hicks of Halifax, Canada, Wilfred Allan of Yarmouth, Canada and Donald Allan of AZ, cherished great aunt of Kristy Allan of Brookline and dear friend of Mary Beal of Hingham and June Livingston of Medford. Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visitation was Friday, prior to the service from 10:30 to 11 AM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
