Ruby Conger Culpepper, 76, of Tift County passed away April 17, 2007. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2007, in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery in Doles (Worth County). Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 20, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
The daughter of the later Ed Franklin and Lettie Hall Conger, she was born in Colquitt County, but lived most of her life in Tift County, after marrying her husband, the late Gilmer Thurston Culpepper. She was a graduate of Norman Park High School and attended Norman College.
She was a devoted member of Inaha Baptist Church, where she served as leader of the Women’s Missionary Union and teacher of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class for many years, as well as in other ministries of the church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Randall Allen Culpepper and David Thurston Culpepper; and two brothers, Homer Conger and Lewis Conger.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Larry Graham of Advance, North Carolina; two grandchildren and their spouses, Zack and Jennifer Graham of Lawrenceville, and Amanda and David Ladd of Advance, North Carolina; one great grandchild, Colton Ladd of Advance, North Carolina; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Marie Conger of Norman Park, Roy and Ann Conger of Moultrie, and Carrol and Linda Conger of Moultrie; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Agnes and Donald Graves of Conyers, Ann and John Lewis of Moultrie, and Margaret Peterson of Belvedere, Illinois; and five sisters-in-law, Norma Conger of Colquitt County, Gwinelle Lindsey of Tifton, Odell Shipman of Cordele, Willene Beard of Ashburn and Carolyn Culpepper of Warner Robins.
Ms. Culpepper had a personal ministry of sending cards to many, many people on all occasions. She will be dearly missed.
