Alma B. Gay, 83 formerly of Hampstead, NH died Monday April 16, 2007 in the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood, NH. Mrs. Gay was born in Manchester, NH on April 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Edmond J. and Anna V. (Bedard) Gosselin. She had resided in Brentwood for the past seven years, formerly living in Hampstead and Kingston, NH. She had been employed as a production worker for AMI Corporation in Bradford, MA. Mrs. Gay was a member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Sandown, NH. She loved to travel and also enjoyed camping.
She is survived by her son, Robert Janvrin and his wife Arline of Hampstead; her step-daughter, Loretta Will of Mechanic Falls, ME; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Arthur I. Gosselin and his wife Sarah of Hampstead; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Rev. Raymond A. Gay in 2001 and by Jesse W. Chase in 1977. She was also predeceased by her brother Leo J. Gosselin.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday April 18th from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 10:00am in St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, Main St., Sandown. Burial followed in Willowgrove Cemetery, Newton, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RCNH Special Fund, C/O Rockingham County Nursing Home, 117 North Rd., Brentwood, NH 03833.
