Obituary

John J. Curran, Jr., 75, of St. Paul St., Blackstone, died Monday at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was the husband of Rita H. (Murray) Curran.
Born in Cambridge, MA, he was son of the late John J. Curran Sr. and Sarah J. (Russell) Curran, both natives of Ireland.
Mr. Curran served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, UN Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Curran worked as a bus driver for the MBTA for over 30 years. He was a member of the Car Men’s Union Local 589.
He enjoyed golf and was a devoted Red Sox and Patriots fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Curran, of FL., and James Curran, of Holbrook, a brother, Edward Curran, of Acton, a sister, Sarah Blakely of Woonsocket. He was the brother of the late Mary Rossi. He is also survived by 2 grandsons, James Michael Curran, and Anthony James Curran, and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Thursday at 8:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Please visit www.fournierandfournier.com for guestbook and directions.
