Stuart Anthony "Tony" Dudgeon, 70, of South Yarmouth, MA, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, in his sleep. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Joyce (Goodale) Dudgeon.
He was born and raised in Mattapoisett, MA, the son of the late Stuart and Alice (Crosby) Dudgeon. Mr. Dudgeon attended Center School, graduated from Fairhaven High School, and attended the College of San Mateo (CA). He also served in the United States Air Force.
After his marriage to Joyce, he was employed as manager of the Alling Rubber Company in West Hartford, CT. He was later employed, until his death, as a sporting goods sales representative. From 1967 to 2000, he lived with his family in Willington, CT. He pitched for many years in the Greater Hartford Softball League, for the Beacon Café.
Stuart was an avid sports fan and always supported local sports, from coaching Little League baseball, to attending UCONN events, Cape Cod Baseball League, and D-Y High School. He also enjoyed golf, both as a player, and as "The Golf Man" at Dick and Ellie's Flea Market in Dennis, MA.
In addition to his wife, his three children and their spouses survive him: Cyndi Tillman, and her husband Daniel, of Somers, NY, Lee Ann Gordon, and her husband Kevin, of Harleysville, PA, and Robert Dudgeon, and his wife Jane, of Granby, CT. Also surviving is his sister, Faith D. Glennon, sister-in-law, Jacquelyn G. Goodenough, both of Mattapoisett, and his eleven grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Carolyn D. Perkins.
His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 20th at 12 Noon in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. His family will receive guests from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to his service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Fairhaven High School Alumni Assoc. Restoration Fund, P.O.
