Deacon James Holman was born December 19, 1934 to the late Virgus Holman and Bertha Holman. He departed this life April 12, 2007 at Huntsville Hospital. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Little Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend John Betts. He was and ordained deacon and served faithfully until his illness and death. He also served many years as Superintendent of the Sunday school. He worked for Hardees for 25 years before retiring in 1992.
Mr. Holman was united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Louisa Moore on March 23, 1957.
His memories will always be cherished by a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Louisa Holman; three sons, Jimmy L. (Doris) Holman of Madison, AL, Charlie Ed (Marilyn) Holman of Huntsville, AL, Douriel (Jackie) Holman of Harvest, AL; three daughters, Bertha (William) Ragland of Huntsville, AL, Gussie Corbett of Huntsville, AL, Sherry (Jimmy) Bush of Huntsville, AL; four brothers, Freddie (Hattie) Holman, Willie (Earline) Holman, Virgus (Leola) Holman, William (Mildred) Franklin; five sisters, Georgia (Jessie) Erskine, Mattie (Thomas) Miller, Minnie (Rev. L. C. ) Rainey, Sarah Grays, Addie Pearl Brown; seven sisters-in-law, Ruby Jones, Earleen (Clarence) Davis, Alma Pettus, Irene Mack, Loudee Appleton, Pearl Holman, Amanda Franklin; brothers-in-law; Walter Lee (Ruth) Moore, Roy Lee Moore; a loving and devoted grandson, Glenn Allen Corbett; one aunt, Clara Moore; twenty-one grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; devoted cousin Lou Tate and a host of other nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. James O. Holman will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday from the Macedonia P. B. Church with Reverend Ananias Green officiating and Elder L. C. Burks and Elder Henry Lacy as Eulogists. Interment will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens. The remains of Mr. Holman will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
