Francis J. Fitzpatrick of Medford and formerly of Somerville passed away on Wednesday, April 11th. Francis was born on March 3rd, 1916 in East Boston and was the son of the late Andrew F. & Julia T (Stewert) Fitzpatrick. Francis was a loving husband to the late S. Alice (Flanagan) Fitzpatrick. He is the Brother of the late M. Louise Roulliard, Dorothy M. Campbell, Gertrude R. Gaspar, William T., Edward L. and Andrew F. Fitzpatrick. He is the Brother-in-law of Hazel M. Fitzpatrick of East Boston, Beatrice W. Flanagan of Malden, Catherine M. Douglass and her husband John of Winthrop and Joseph N. Flanagan Sr. and his wife Irene of Holyoke. Francis is the Uncle of his caring niece Nancy L. Sweeney of Reading and several other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Francis was a longtime employee of First National Stores Inc. At a young age, he managed a summer store in Bethlehem, NH. In the early 1950’s, he transferred to the Somerville Whse serving in various capacities such as Inventory Control Mgr., Receiving Mgr., and eventually as Manager of the entire Somerville Whse. He is a loyal Lifetime Member of the Knights of Columbus and has been an active member of Mt. Benedict Council #75. He served as Grand Knight in 1962-63. During his tenure, the council celebrated its 70th anniversary and the late Bishop Fulton J. Sheen was the principal speaker at the celebration. Funeral from the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Saturday April 14th at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden at 10:30 AM. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
