Louis Mikitarian, 80, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in UMass Memorial Hospital. His wife of 43 years, Elizabeth (Harootian) Mikitarian, died in 2000. He leaves two sons, Louis S. Mikitarian and his wife, Jan, of Boylston and Mark G. Mikitarian of Harvard; two sisters, Margaret Derderian of Milford and Cynthia Mikitarian of Worcester; a brother, Carnig Mikitarian and his wife, Jacqueline, of Dedham; two grandchildren, Ani and Karine Mikitarian; and five nephews. A sister, Rose “Mickey” Krikorian, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Kapriel and Mariam (Jamgochian) Mikitarian. He was a graduate of Commerce High and was a WWII Army veteran. He was a meter technician for Mass Electric. An active member of Armenian Church of Our Saviour, Lou was a member of the Men’s Club and the Avaks. He was also a member of the Greendale Retired Men’s Club. He loved to spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an avid card player and enjoyed traveling.
Funeral services will be held at Armenian Church of Our Saviour on Friday, April 13, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. A Dahngark Service will be held at 7 p.m.
