Ronald J. McDonald, 91 of Medford, formerly of Somerville passed away on April 5th 2007 . He was the beloved son of the late Jerome and Margaret (Leary) McDonald and the brother of Raymond McDonald and his wife Geraldine of Malden and the late Alice Hinckley. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Ronald was born in Boston on May 16th, 1915. He spent the majority of his childhood and adult life living in Somerville. During World War II Ronald enlisted in the Army. He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Private First Class Steamship Clerk. After the war he began a career as a Steamship Clerk for the Massachusetts Steamship Authority. He remained a fixture at that position for nearly forty years. Ronald was a member of the American Legion in Somerville and the Disabled American Veterans in Medford. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden on Tuesday April 10th, 2007.
