Laconia (Lakeport)-Aurore Marie Cyr, 95, of 160 Sheridan Street died Monday evening, April 9th, 2007 at her home after a period of declining health.
Aurore was born on September 24th, 1911 in Charterville, P.Q., Canada, the daughter of the late George and Aline Marie (Beauclair) Pelchat where she was raised until moving to Laconia in 1922.
Prior to her retirement in 1973 Aurore was employed by the former Laconia Shoe, Company for 26 years as an inspector.
Aurore attended of Sacred Heart School. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church in Lakeport.
Aurore had a true love for music through her family upbringing. She loved to sing and dance. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Family was important to her, and she loved her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly often caring for them and assuring they were safe.
Aurore is predeceased by her husband Desire A. Cyr in 1988, and a son, Roland M. Cyr in 1997. She is also predeceased by five brothers, George, Sr., Cyprien, Alfred, Romeo, and Roger Pelchat, and four sisters, Orize Belanger, Flora Provencal, Alice Brunelle, and Eva Page.
Aurore is survived by a son, Armand S. Cyr and his wife Helen of Alvarado, TX; a brother, Ronaldo Pelchat of Lancaster, NH; a sister, Jeanne Foote of Laconia; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews also survive Aurore.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, April 14th, 2007 at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Laconia (Lakeport) at 11:00 a.m. Rev. George J. Soberick pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Burial will take place later this spring in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia. Visiting hours were Friday April 13th, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend.
