Barbara A. (Kutz) Gendreau Lofchie, 85, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Friday, April 6. She was the wife of the late Moses Lofchie and Bertrand Gendreau. Born in Boston, she was educated in Roslindale schools and the Feener School. She was a resident of Canton for 20 years. Mrs. Lofchie was a banker with Shawmut Bank, South Shore Bank and Milton Savings Bank for many years before retiring 25 years ago. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Ladies Sodality both in Canton. She was a Eucharistic Minister and active in church activities at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Stoughton and St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton.
She is survived by her children, B. Robert Gendreau, Jr. of Charlestown, Dorothea M. Kling of GA, Christopher D. Gendreau of Bridgewater, Albert Gendreau and Edmond R. Gendreau both of Easton. She was the sister of Agnes Toomey of Duxbury and the late Elizabeth Smiley. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, April 12 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
