Obituary

Roland Bellegarde, 80, of Manchester, NH died April 5, 2007 at Maple Leaf Healthcare Center, Manchester after a brief illness.
Born in Lewiston, ME on July 22, 1926, he was the son of Zepherin and Rose (Parent) Bellegarde. He grew up in Lewiston and briefly worked building Navy destroyers at Bath Iron Works in Bath, ME.
During World War II he served in the US Navy on board the USS Antietum.
Mr. Bellegarde earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Maine. During his working career he lived in Pittsburgh, PA, Pine Bluff, AR, Marion, OH and Reading, MA. He moved to Manchester in 1965 and worked for the Portland Cement Association, and as a project manager for Harvey Construction Company for many years.
After retiring in 1991, he worked as a consultant for Empire Sheet Metal in Manchester, Merrimack Concrete in Merrimack, NH and Crowley Construction Company in Leominster, MA.
He was married to Gisele (Beland) Bellegarde who died in 1999.
The family includes three sons, Daniel Bellegarde of Guatamala City, Guatamala, David Bellegarde of Manchester, NH and Paul Bellegarde of Vienna, VA; cousins and nieces.
IN HIS LIFE: The family also includes five grandchildren, Stephen Bellegarde, Isabelle Bellegarde, Joseph Bellegarde, Lauren Bellegarde and Christopher Bellegarde.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday April 13, 2007 at the Basilica of St. Peter & Paul, 27 Bartlett St., Lewiston, ME. Burial followed at St. Peter Cemetery, Deer Rd., Lewiston, ME
