Obituary

Henry P. Gagnon, 73, of Derry, NH, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mr. Gagnon was born in Fitchburg, MA on February 18, 1934, a son of the late Joseph and Amanda (Cormier) Gagnon. He was a resident of Derry for the past 42 years, formerly living in Hingham, MA. He was a graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelors degree in Science. Mr. Gagnon was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean conflict era. He had a long-standing career as a chemist with several leading companies. Mr. Gagnon had been active in community service, served on the Derry Planning Board, and was a founding member and former president of the Greater Derry Boy's and Girl's Club. He was also an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Derry. Mr. Gagnon was an avid golfer, loved all sports, especially the NE Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, and loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy (Dennis) Gagnon of Derry; two daughters, Lynne Bouchard and her husband Thomas of Milford, NH, and Beth Byra and her husband Philip of Windham, NH; one son, David Gagnon and his wife Kimberly of Lisbon, NH; many grandchildren; one sister, Claire Goodale of Westminster, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends called on Wednesday, April 11th from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Greater Derry Boys & Girls Club, Box 140, E. Derry, NH 03041.
