Roberta “Bobbie” (LaPointe) McCann, 58, formerly of So. Attleboro and Abington, died April 7th in the Norwood Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Martin McCann of Attleboro.
Born and raised in Abington, daughter of Philip and Cecille (Thompson) LaPointe of Abington, she attended Abington Schools.
Bobbie was a resident of South Attleboro for twenty years and Foxboro for the past year.
She was an Insurance agent for the Corbett Insurance company for 20 years.
Bobbie was the #1 fan of the Red Sox.
She is also survived by her parents Philip and Cecille(Thompson) LaPointe of Abington; her mother-in-law Mary Chatigny of RI.; 2 sons and a daughter, L. Michael Dalton Jr. of Attleboro, Matthew P. Dalton, Sr. of Abington and Heather (Dalton) LaFrance of Meriden, CT; her step-children, Kelly O’Callahan of Sterling, Tracy Brumble of Mansfield, Mark McCann of Cocobeach, Fl and Kevin McCann of Taunton; her brothers and sisters Glenn LaPointe, Joseph LaPointe, Kent LaPointe, Alta Thompson, all of Abington, Philip LaPointe, Debbie Lauzon both of Plymouth, Jane Brooks of Sagamore Beach, Kim Gorman of Florida, Laurie Damiano of East Bridgewater; 3-grandchildren, Matthew Dalton, Edward LaFrance IV, and Connor LaFrance. She is also survived by her life long friend Jill Paige of Foxboro; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral services will be held Thursday April 12th at 8:15 A.M. from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bridget’s Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington, MA. Visiting hours Wednesday April 11th 2-4 & 7-9.
