Providence, RI - Raymond H. “Uncle Ray” Fugere, 88, of South Dartmouth passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Turners Falls, MA, a son of the late Edward and Rosa belle (Nadeau) Fugere, he had lived in South Dartmouth for most of his life. He was a 1936 graduate of Turners Falls High School. A Veteran of WWII, he served in the Army as a military policeman in Algiers. He was a game warden in Taunton after the war and later ran the office and was treasurer of Reynolds Bottled Gas. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Greenfield Tap and Die Corporation of Greenfield, MA. Mr. Fugere was an avid stamp collector, Red Sox fan, computer guru and fisherman. He was a member of the Noquochoke Lodge A.F. & A.M., Alleppo Shriners, Sutton Commandery, Scottish Rites Bodies, Royal and Select Master Masons and the Adoniram Royal Arch Chapter.
Survivors include 2 brothers: Maurice Fugere of Turners Falls and Donald Fugere of FL; 2 sisters: Pauline Paulin of Turners Falls and Teresa Ferland of Turners Falls; a nephew: William Sylvia of S. Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services under the direction of Noquochoke Lodge A.F. & A.M. will be held Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Friends Cemetery, Old Westport Road, Dartmouth.
