Mrs. Elinore Mae (Sweeney) Greene, beloved wife of the late Joseph D. Greene and a life long resident of Medford, died at the Winchester Hospital on April 5, 2007. She was 82 years old.
Mrs. Greene was a graduate of Medford High School and spent her life caring for her beloved family. She was a member of the Blitz Club and a former active member of the St. Francis Mothers Club. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, gambling and most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the loving mother of Pamela E. and her husband the late Jack Spencer of Medford, Susan E. and her husband Jack Doherty of Stoneham and Karen E. Reynolds of Medford. Devoted sister of John J. and his wife Helen Sweeney of Medford, Lillian M. “Sis” and her husband George Nelson of Medford, Lorraine K. and her husband John Dixon of Hanson and the late Francis “Darcy” Sweeney. Sister-in-law of Margaret Sweeney of Medford and the late Alma Cameron. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church 118 High Street, Medford at 9 AM. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours were Sunday, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
