Peter J. Lajoie of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, formerly of Hopkinton, died unexpectedly, on Monday, April 2, 2007. He was 29 years old.
Peter was a graduate of the Norfolk County Agricultural High School, class of 1995. Peter was a ten year resident of Hopkinton before moving to Baton Rouge last year. His life long hobby and work was being an excavation contractor and operated Peter J. Lajoie Co., in Hopkinton, prior to moving to Baton Rouge. He was also an on call firefighter for the Hopkinton Fire Department for seven years until 2006. Peter was a tireless worker and in his spare time he enjoyed taking long rides on his ATV, Jet Ski, or off road four wheeling with his friends.
Peter was a devoted friend to many and a loving son and brother.
He will be sorely missed by his wife; Melissa (Thomas) Lajoie of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, mother and step father; Betsy K. Mathews and her husband Thomas R. Bennett, both of Medford, father; Gregory P. Lajoie of Needham and one brother and sister-in-law Eric Lajoie and his wife Henrica Lajoie both of Seattle, Washington.
A memorial service was celebrated by Fr. Mike Billingsley in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street, Hopkinton, Saturday, April 7, 2007, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends attended.
