
BEVERLY: Reta E. (Ouimette) Demeule, 87, of 22 Federal Street, died early Wednesday morning, February 28, 2007 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Demeule, who died in March of 1999.
Born in Danvers on April 25, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (LaPanne) Ouimette. She had resided in Salem most of her life before moving to Beverly over twenty years ago.
Mrs. Demeule was employed at the former Parker Bros. in Salem for many years before retiring in 1977. She was an avid bingo player and a member and volunteer at the Beverly Senior Center. She was also a longtime communicant of the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Marie Carroll and Pamela and George Vanikiotis all of Beverly, Patricia and Ronald DeGaeta of W. Newbury, Beverly and Peter Bick of Peabody, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Norman R. and Frances (Cerra) Demeule of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Michael J. Demeule of Seabrook, NH, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Leonard Carroll, a sister, Yvette Thomas and three brothers, Philip, Joseph and Raymond “Eddie” Ouimette.
Her funeral services was held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 from the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 9 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated in the St. John the Evangelist Church, Beverly at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923. Interment was held in the Central Cemetery, Beverly.
