Salem: Lucille ‘Babe’ (Levesque) Languirand age 73 of Salem, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Phillip F. ‘Red’ Languirand, with whom she had shared 52 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Pascal and Arthemise (Madore) Levesque. A graduate of St. Joseph Academy, she first worked for Sylvania in Danvers and later for the former Ducom Company of Salem. She retired from Bass Products in 1992.
Babe was very devoted to her family and her extended family. For years she cared for her husband at home throughout his long disability. Her passion was playing the organ at family gatherings, and following directly behind was her Christmas Eve open house. She was a long time member of the former St. Joseph Parish and was a member of the St. Joseph School Alumni Assoc.
Babe is survived by a son Thomas P. Languirand & his wife Carolyn of Peabody, a daughter Donna M. Morin & her husband Richard of Salem., 2 sisters: Marie Clement and Lillian LeBlanc both of Danvers, 5 grandchildren: Lisa Francis & her husband Ross, Tracy Morin, Sarah, Brett & Allyson Languirand, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 5 brothers: Lucien, Leo, Laurier, Wilfred ‘Red’ & William ‘Piam’ Levesque and 3 sisters: Lena Pare, Theresa McCauley & Noella Ouellette.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 8 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 9 am. Visiting hours: Monday 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
