LONDONDERRY, NH- George E. Lapham Jr., 58, husband of Mary Alice (Predki) Lapham, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, formerly of Peabody, Danvers and Salem, died Tuesday night, November 5, 2002 at his home following a long illness.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late George and Ida (Berube) Lapham, Sr. He was a resident of Peabody for 20 years before moving to Londonderry in 1996 and was a member of the Danvers Fish & Game Club.
Prior to his retirement in the late 1990's due to illness, Mr Lapham was employed as a licensed electrician at the General Electric Co. in Lynn for 10 years. He previously worked in the security alarm trade for 25 years on the north shore and in the greater Boston area.
An Army Veteran, he served from 1961 to 1964, was stationed in Korea and Vietnam and held the rank of Corporal.
Besides his wife, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Monique Lapham and Jason Lapham, all of Peabody , two grandchildren, Tyler Lapham and Corey Lapham of Peabody, one sister, Lorraine Mandeville of Beverly, two step-brothers, Robert Lapham of Peabody, Paul Lapham of Danvers, one uncle, Armand Berube of Salem and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 8 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 am at St Thomas The Apostle Church, Route 114, Salem-Peabody line. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday, 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
