Fall River - Albert F. Hoyt, 78, of Brayton Point Rd., Westport passed away Monday, April 2, 2007 at Highlander Rehabilitation & Nursing Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was the husband of Betty A. (Gross) Hoyt.
Born in E. Providence, RI, a son of the late Frank A. and Edith (Larsson) Hoyt, he had lived in Attleboro for 24 years prior to moving to Westport in 1986, where he designed and built his own home. A graduate of E. Providence High School Class of 1947, he earned a B.S. in Engineering from Roger Williams College. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Japan. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was an engineer for Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA. Mr. Hoyt was a member of the First Baptist (Old Stone) Church, Tiverton and was an avid photographer.
Including his loving wife of 52 years, he is survived by 3 sons: David A. Hoyt and his wife Penny of Bradford, MA, Jeffrey J. Hoyt and his wife Tracy Spallina of Albuquerque, NM and Gregory C. Hoyt and his wife Marla of Reading, MA; 2 daughters: Judith Cosby and her husband Richard of Alexandria, VA and Paula Hoyt and her husband Anthony Grace of Westford, MA; a sister: Shirley Berg of E. Providence, RI; 4 grandchildren: Eric Cosby, Kelvin Hoyt, Bailey Hoyt and Carson Grace; a step-grandson: Nicholas Grace; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Eleanor Bood.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the First Baptist (Old Stone) Church, 7 Old Stone Church Rd., Tiverton, RI 02878 at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
Interment will be private.
