Obituary

Frederick E. Wetmore 84, died Friday, March 30th, in the Soldiers Home in Chelsea, after a period of failing health.

Frederick was born in Holbrook and was the son of the late Carlyle E. and Freda F. (Bernard) Wetmore.

He was a lifetime resident of Whitman and attended Whitman Schools.

Frederick was a United States Navy veteran of WWII. He worked for over 20 years in the shipping department for Westerbeke in Avon, before retiring.

He rode his bicycle all over, even to work in Avon, also enjoyed cribbage, bumper pool, horse shoes, bowling and most of all he loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Janice Blackler of Brockton; also the proud grandfather of 5, great-grandfather of 11 and great-great grandfather of 3. He was also the husband of the late Gertrude (Daley) Wetmore and father of the late Judith I. Lenoci

His services will be held Tuesday April 3rd at 11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Inc, Plymouth Street (Rt 58 at the Rotary Circle), Whitman, MA. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours Monday April 2nd 4-7. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA. 02472 or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101 First Ave./Suite 6, Waltham, MA.
