Obituary

Louise E. (Farrah) Butler, age 83, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Saturday evening at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell following a long illness. She was the widow of Andrew C. Butler who died in 1992.
She was born in Lowell, November 21, 1923, daughter of the late Edward & Rose (Andrews) Farrah.
According to the family, Mrs. Butler was a devoted mother all of her life. She had been employed in her earlier years as a seamstress at Suffolk Knitting. Later she had been a waitress at the Laconia Bar formerly on Merrimack St., in Lowell. She also enjoyed Bingo.
She is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law: Robert & Lorna Edie of North Billerica, Kenneth & Geraldine Butler of Nashua, NH; three daughters & a son-in-law: Carol A. Edie, and Deborah L. Porter, both of Lowell and Robin & David Finneral of Nashua, NH; a brother & sister-in-law: Thomas & Beth Farrah of Las Vegas, NV; a sister: Josephine Therrien of Lowell; three grandchildren: Melissa Butler of Lowell, Lauren Giordano and her husband Maurice Giordano, III, and Shane Edie, both of North Billerica; also many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
She was also grandmother of the late Robert D. Edie, Jr., and sister of the late Helen Berten, Michael Farrah, George Farrah, Rita Petry, Norman Farrah, Martha Farrah and Mary Farrah.
Visiting hours Tuesday at the M.R. Laurin & Son Funeral Home, 295 Pawtucket St.,Lowell from 4 until 8:00 PM. Funeral Wednesday morning with a funeral mass to be celebrated at Holy Family Parish (Ste. Marie's Church in South Lowell) at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
