Mrs. Mary O. (Silva) Racette, age 71, of Dracut, died on Thursday, March 29th, 2007 at her home in Dracut following a courageous battle with cancer. For 23 years, she was the beloved wife of Roland R. Racette.
She was born in Graciosa, Azores on March 18th, 1936, daughter of the late Antonio & Maria (Santos) Silva.
She was also a communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Dracut.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Racette was employed as a Skills Instructor for Wang Labs in Lowell for over 10 years. She had also previously worked at the Wannalancit Mills in Lowell for several years.
According to the family, she enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren and family, as well as summers at the family beach house in Hampton, NH.
She was also a member of the Portuguese Senior Center.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Joseph & Donna Caouette of Pelham, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda & Stan Kosidlo of Tyngsboro, and Donna & Paul Fidler of Ashburnham; a sister and brother-in-law: Mary Helena Silva and her husband Eliseu of Chelmsford; 7 grandchildren: Alyssa, Aidan and Andrew Caouette, Joe and James Kosidlo, Angela and Steven Fidler; her mother-in-law, Almanza Savingnac; also several nieces & nephews.
She was also the wife of the late Joseph Caouette, and sister of the late Manuel Silva.
Visitation will take place at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on SUNDAY, April 1st, from 2:00 until 6:00 PM. Funeral Monday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 o'clock at St. Anthony's Church in Lowell. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
