Joanne D. Belmonte
TEWKSBURY - Joanne D. Belmonte, age 50, died Friday morning March 30th at her Tewksbury
home, surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Carl A. Belmonte,
with whom she had celebrated a 23rd wedding anniversary, August 14th.
She was born in Boston, on March 3, 1957, the daughter of the late Anthony and Antonette
(Capprini) Damplo. She was raised in East Boston, and graduated East Boston High School.
She went on to receive a B.S. Ed. from Salem State College.
Mrs. Belmonte was employed by the Tewksbury School Department, initially as a teachers aid
and later as a substitute teacher at the Louise Day Trahan Elementary School. As she raised her
daughters, she had also been active with the Trahan School P.A.C.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Nicole and Leanne; a brother, Anthony
Damplo of Nashua, NH; her husband’s parents, Carl and Margaret (Aselage) Belmonte of
Marlboro; her aunts and uncles, Dottie and Jim Aufiero of Georgetown, Ann Nucci of E. Boston,
Mary and Frank Puleo, and Angie Caruso all of Wilmington, and Flonnie Capprini of Winthrop;
many nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, April 3, in St. William’s
Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed in Tewksbury Cemetery.
