NORTHAMPTON___Stanislaus J. “ Stanley” Stomski, 80, of 421 North Main Street, formerly of Worcester, died Thursday March 29 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Northampton.
He leaves a brother, Vincent P. Stomski and his wife Dorothy of Worcester; an aunt, Julia Sankoski of Worcester and several cousins. He was born and raised in Worcester, a son of Stanislaw C. and Helen M. (Sankoski) Stomski and has lived in Northampton several years.
Mr. Stomski was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic Pacific theater. He participated in the Battle of the Philippine Islands and earned the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a machine operator for several years for Crompton & Knowles Co. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade High School and was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Worcester.
The funeral will be held on Saturday March 31 with a service at 11:00 a.m. in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held Saturday March 31 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester, Ma., 01610
