Lorraine M. (Girouard) Ryan, 84, of Fairhaven died Monday November 4, 2002 suddenly of a heart attack at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late John J. "Jack" Ryan, to whom she was married for over 40 years, and daughter of the late Augustine and Azelie (Maillet) Girouard.
Born in Buctouche, New Brunswick, Canada, and raised in New Bedford, she was a graduate of New Bedford High School. She had lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Oregon for many years, before returning to Massachusetts. After the death of her husband in 1983, she returned to the New Bedford area and settled in Fairhaven.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fairhaven.
Survivors include 2 sons, John P. Ryan of Fairhaven and Dennis M. Ryan of Vienna, VA; a brother, Augustine Girouard of Bethlehem, Penn.; a sister, Omerine Ross of Fairhaven; 2 granddaughters, Christine M. Ryan and Jennifer A. Ryan, both of Vienna, VA; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordThursday November 7, 2002 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven, at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday November 6, 2002 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
