Francis P. Dumback, of Scranton, died Monday at AseraCare Hospice at Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville, following an illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Eleanor L. Sherotski.
Born in Dickson City, son of the late Jacob and Agnes Dumback, he was educated in Dickson City schools. Before retirement, he was employed as a machinist at Lockheed Martin, formerly Weston Components. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, North Scranton, and an avid bowler and fisherman. He was a member of the Harmonic Cats.
He was an accomplished craftsman.
He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandson.
Surviving are a son, Christopher and wife, Laura, Scranton; a daughter, Beverly and husband, John Lawrence, Houston; a sister, Irene Golik; two brothers, Donald and Michael Gretzula; four grandchildren, Kristy, Barry, Evelyn and Kyle; a great-grandson, Aleksander; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Duke and Edward Dumback.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home, 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, William Street. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. For information, go to www.glinskyfuneralhome.com.
