Joseph M. Foley of Reading passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at his home. He was 87 years of age.
Born in Wakefield, Joseph was the loving son of the late Thomas Foley and Mary (Dalton) Foley. Joseph was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Joseph was a dedicated Lathe Operator in the Metal Spinning business for many years. He was a Reading resident for 56 years. Joseph had a true love and passion for his family. They were first and foremost in his life. Joseph loved all sports, especially going to the Rockingham Racing Track, where he was known as an excellent handicapper. He was proud of his Irish heritage. He especially enjoyed listening to Irish music. Joseph was happy to say that he was able to send all of his children to St. Agnes School.
Joseph was the beloved husband for 65 years of Dorothy (Muse) Foley. He was the devoted father of Kathleen Monahan and her husband William of North Reading, Mary Ellen Nardone and her husband Albert of Wakefield, Jo Anne Deyarmond and her husband James of New Hampshire, Michael Foley of Amesbury, Karen Ray and her husband Michael of Georgia and the late Thomas Foley. Joseph was the cherished grandfather of David, Kyle, Lindsey, Christopher, Jarrod, Erin, Sean, Courtney, Suzanne, Daniel, Laura and Joseph. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Wednesday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Joseph’s life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Tuesday 4-7pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
