Obituary

Born March 31, 1928 in Wakefield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Comeau of Watertown, MA and formerly of Nova Scotia. Beloved wife of William Harrington whom she married on June 2, 1951. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Robin Harrington and James Garfield of Baiting Hollow, NY; Faith Harrington and former husband Douglas R. Martin, of Kittery Point, ME; Alane and Peter Wallisof Concord, MA; Mary Katherine and David Morin of Norwell, MA; Angela C.Harrington of Manomet, MA; and William J. Harrington Jr. of New York City. She was also the mother of the late Charles F. J. Harrington II. Her grandchildren include; Seth and Laura Harrington; Anna and Heather Martin; Currin, Lili, Charlotte and Laura Wallis; Derek, Michael and Carli Morin; and Rey Carlos Harrington da Silva. She is also survived by her brother Norbert Comeau and his wife Mary, and sisters Bernice Brady, Blanche Furey, Muriel Chapman and Lorraine Lawn. She was also the sister of the late Felix Comeau, Maynard Comeau, Jeannine Prendergast and Helen Robbins. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was a loving, generous, intelligent, warm, fun-loving woman who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Watertown, MA in 1946 and took courses at Boston College following high school. Although her family took precedent over all else, she and her husband owned and operated William Harrington Insurance for many years. She was active in many community organizations including the past president and member of the Jordan Hospital Club, an organization she supported for over 50 years. She was a talented gardener and a member of the Plymouth Garden Club. She loved to play bridge and was a member of the Owl's Nest Bridge Club. She also loved to read and was a member of the Plymouth Public Library Association. She was a member of the Plymouth Yacht Club and the San Yuan (Puerto Rico) Newcomers Club. She possessed an adventurous spirit and love of travel. She and her husband traveled frequently. They visited almost every island in the Caribbean during the fifty-five years they were married, snorkeling and scuba diving during their younger years. They also traveled to China, Japan, Thailand, the South Pacific, the Canary Islands, the Azores, much of Europe, North America, Central America, South America, Australia and New Zealand. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday March 29th at St. Bonaventure's Church in Plymouth at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday March 28th from 4 to 7 PM. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Jordan Hospital Club, P.O Box 1727, Plymouth, MA 02369-1727.
