Obituary

TEWKSBURY: John J. DiCiaccio, age 79, a resident of Tewksbury for 53 years, died Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He was the husband of Marie A. (Marangi) DiCiaccio, with whom he celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on May 28, 2006.
Born in Somerville on March 22, 1928, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Nancy (Nardone) DiCiaccio.
Mr. DiCiaccio was raised in Somerville and attended Somerville Schools.
In 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served during World War II during the occupation of Northern China. Mr. DiCiaccio was awarded several decorations including the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the China Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was employed as a quality control inspector by the Purity Supreme Supermarket Company, where he worked for 18 years. Mr. DiCiaccio previously worked as a meat cutter for the I.G.A. Supermarket Company.
During his retirement years, he served the Town of Billerica as a school crossing guard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Aldrich of North Andover and Deborah A. Fee of Tewksbury; one son, John S. DiCiaccio and Linda Coughlin of Lowell; one sister, Angelina Iannillo of Kennebunk, ME; three grandchildren, Robert Rosano and his wife Jaime, Johnnah Rosano and Joanthan DiCiaccio all of Methuen; four great grandchildren, Gabriella, Olivia, Olimpia and Alyssa Rosano all of Methuen; many nieces and nephews; and his dog Abigail.
Mr. DiCiaccio was the brother of the late Carmella Vigoroso, Cosmo and James DiCiaccio.
Calling hours Thursday, March 29th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Friday, March 30th, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
