Virginia M. (Murphy) Lyon, 67, of Dedham died March 25, 2007 at her home in Dedham. She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Lyon.
Mrs. Lyon was born in Boston and has lived in Dedham for 36 years. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Duffy) Murphy. She worked as a Legal Secretary for the Derian Law Firm in Canton for 15 years. She was an avid Red Sox fan.
She was the devoted mother of Ann M. Deady of Medway, Donna J. Lyon of Dedham, Patricia E. Dunne of Dedham, Kelly A. Doucette of Marshfield, Robert W. Lyon of Dedham and the late John J. Lyon. She was the loving grandmother of Shannon, Alyssa, Jack, Kevin, Brian, Zachary and Nick. She was the sister of Elizabeth Sullivan of Dedham, Catherine McCarney of West Roxbury and the late Robert Murphy. She also leaves her loving dog Sadie.
Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Thursday at 9:00 AM with a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 3-8 PM.
