Henry V. Girard 97 formerly of 420 Elm St. died Saturday at The Holiday in Lincoln. He was the husband of Hilda (Blanchette) Girard. Mr. Girard was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Arthur and Delia (Charlette) Girard. Mr. Girard was a machinist for American Wringer for thirty years; he retired in 1970 from the former Fales Machine Shop after ten years. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. Mr. Girard was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a life member. He was a member of the Franco American War Veterans Post #15 and a volunteer for St. Ann’s bingo for many years.
Mr. Girard is survived by a Godchild Donna Jalette of Johnston and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Aldor Girard, Ella Marchand and Irene Desjarlais.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am. from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Monday 4-7 pm.
