Harvey D. Weeks, 82, of Tifton, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Elmer Golden and Rev. Jerome Houle will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Wood, Bo Southern, Jimmy Dunlap, Randy Blalock, Gary Walker, and Guy Cravey. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Perry, Raymond Ray, Gene Smith, Greg Wood, Billy Hall, Jimmy Taylor and Doug Jones. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Weeks was born on April 3, 1924 in Colquitt County and was the son of Stonewall Weeks and Lula Alman Weeks, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He was a retired mechanic with Modern Fibers of Tifton and a member of Harding Methodist Church. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife, Opal Cravey Weeks of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Freddie and Vickie Weeks of Ty Ty, and Duane Weeks of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rick Hooker of Stuart, Florida; one brother, James Weeks of Albany; three sisters, Mae Tillman of Jacksonville, Florida, Evelyn Shivers of Nashville, and Ruby Powell of Moultrie; seven grandchildren, Deana Menard, Brandy Dorminey, Kisha Rowe, Andrew Weeks, Brooke Weeks, Stephanie Phlemons and Alex Hooker; and six great grandchildren, Brandon Menard, Mitchell Menard, Zack Dorminey, Mitchell Dorminey, Deryne Dorminey and Augustus Phlemons.
