Germaine A. Labrie
Manchester-Germaine A. Labrie, 97, died March 21, 2007 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester the daughter of Laurent and Henriette (Lamontagne) Talbot and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
She was the widow of Darie J. Labrie who predeceased her in April of 1991.
She is survived by her daughter Priscilla Labrie Hebert of Manchester, 2 sisters Lillian Florand and Claire Leclerc, 3 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
IN HER LIFE: She taught 3rd and 4th grades for 27 years in Manchester at St. Augustin, St. Edmond and St. John the Baptise schools and St. Peter’ Orphanage.
She was President of the Ladies of Charity for many years and was also President of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality. In 1988 she was chosen “Mother of the Year “ by the ladies of St. Anne because of her warmth and understanding, her caring and her love. She was a communicant of Ste. Marie Church, was an Associate at Catholic Medical Center for 45 years and also worked as a volunteer in the hospital gift shop. She had many friends as well as those from her association in church activities.
She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, reading, dining out and helping people.
She was grateful for the wonderful care and service she received from the staff at Maple Leaf Health Care Center and for the valued friendships she made there.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A private burial service will be held in the Spring.
