Mary R. (Sheedy) Sanborn a 28 year resident of Reading and formerly of Charlestown, died on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. She was 84 years old.
Mary was born in Boston on March 14, 1923. She grew up in the Boston area, where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School. Mary had lived in Charlestown since 1952 before moving moving to Reading in 1978. Mary worked for the Massachusetts General Hospital in thier general store of the hospital for over 20 years.
Mary is the beloved wife of the late Parker E. Sanborn. She is the devoted mother of Douglas Sanborn and his wife Lynn of Basking Ridge, N.J. and the late Steven F. "Sandy" and Parker E. Sanborn. She is the beloved mother-in-law of Karen Sanborn of Reading and Sandra Sanborn of Farmington, N.H. She is the loving grandmother of Troy Sanborn, Wendy and Steven Bradley, Erin and Steven Canterbury, Kristine Sanborn, Ann and Drew Anderson, Peter Sanborn and Yukiyo Iida. Also her great-grandchildren; Kendra and Kameron Bradley. She is the beloved sister of William Sheedy and his wife Geraldine of West Dennis, Christine Cobb and her late husband Ty of Walnut, Ca. and the late John and James Sheedy. She is the sister-in-law of Sunny Sheedy of Reading.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Mary on Tuesday March 27, 2007 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in The First Church in Charlestown (Congregational) 10 Green St. Charlestown. Burial will take place at Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
