Obituary

Rev. Betty W. Hall, 79, of Tifton, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at Smith Northview Hospital in Valdosta. A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Conducting the celebration of life will be Pastor Maxie Williams, Rev. Billy Hall and Rev. Henry Bryant. Pallbearers will be grandsons: William Graham, Steve Smith, Elvin Hall, James Hall, Uriah Hall and Frank Hall. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 24, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Hall was born on July 23, 1927 in Brooks County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Franklin Hall; one son, Elvin Franklin Hall, Jr.; both parents, Rev. J. W. Wilcox, father, and Mary Elizabeth Phelps Wilcox, mother; one brother, James D. Wilcox; four sisters, Mattie Ramsey, Connie Trim, Idell McMillan and Geraldine Lucas; one son-in-law, Bobby Joe Webb; and one daughter-in-law, Nannie Lou Hall.

She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Webb of Hahira; three sons, James Hall of Ocilla, Tony Hall of Valdosta and Darryl Hall of Young Harris; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Ebbie Durley of Tifton, Johnnie Smith of Tifton and Theadus Scarborough of Tifton.

Mrs. Hall was a retired evangelist and pastor and was a member and pastored the Four Square Pentecostal Church in Tifton for over 20 years. During her life, she had an outreach ministry for the hurting. She touched many lives with her never-ending love and care. She especially loved those less fortunate than she and was a caregiver to many. She gave homes to some that were released from prison and jails until they could find their way. She spent endless hours at hospitals praying for the sick. Her lifelong devotion to God was outstanding.

She was an Eastern Star and served the organization while living in Clearwater, Florida. She continued her membership after moving to Georgia and was honored to be a part of the Eastern Star loyalty.
