Ruth L. Brockway, 85, of Derry, NH died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. She was born in Manchester, NH on August 5, 1921, a daughter of the late Donat and Ada (Dionne) Lesmerises and resided in Manchester most of her life. She moved to Derry in 1983 to be near her daughter and her family. Mrs. Brockway was a former employee of Designer’s Originals, and later was employed at the former 606 Hobby Store on Willow St. in Manchester. During the 1980’s she worked at both the Derry and Londonderry NH State Liquor Stores. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Tague and her husband Raymond of Derry and Celeste Brockway of Portland Ore; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Paul F. Brockway in 1970 and a son, Richard Brockway.
Calling hours were on Sunday, March 25th from 2 to 5 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday at 10 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
